South Wairarapa Veterinary Services, New Zealand, is looking for a motivated team player who is driven to succeed in a vibrant fun workplace with a good work life balance.  We have a strong culture in our practice around the wellbeing of our vets.

We are offering a well paid, four day a week position allowing long weekends to travel and see the beautiful sights New Zealand has to offer, or to relax in the Wairarapa - one of the most appealing areas in the country.

The ideal start date of the applicant would be March 2020 and the position would run through to February 2021.  This position whilst being maternity cover may have the potential to become long term for the right candidate.

The equine team is comprised of four experienced vets, two equine technicians and a stable hand. The equine team works well together, and we offer a well-supported position.

You will not be expected to do any production or small animal work, unless there is a strong desire from you to do so.  The equine side of the practice is a good mix of pleasure horse, competition horses, ponies, race horses, farm hacks and a few donkeys.

Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3-4 years equine experience and be confident in most routine equine procedures. They must be able to form strong client relationships and enjoy their work. Reproductive experience and an interest in dentistry and/or lameness exams is ideal though not absolutely necessary.  Qualifications must be recognised by the NZ Vet Council.
