SWVets - Your Premier Animal Health Team

South Wairarapa Veterinary Services (SWVets) has been established in the Wairarapa for nearly 40 years. We have four clinics in the region: Masterton, Carterton, Martinborough and Featherston. From the family to the farm, SWVets provide comprehensive care for all species of animals - production, lifestyle, pleasure and companion.

Our staff are passionate about providing the higher quality care for your animals. We aim to provide excellent animal health services 24/7.

We provide an after-hours service to all our clients which means vets are available 24 hours a day. Our small animal Carterton clinic is open on Saturday and Sunday, and clients from all our clinics are welcome to book an appointment.

We have a farm vet, an equine vet, and a small animal vet on call to assist at all times. This ensures you get the specialist care your animal requires. Whether you are contacting us for advice or in an emergency, we are there to help.  We have an in house laboratory for the fastest lab results in the area, ensuring the correct treatment in a timely manner for your animal.

Consistency in care is important to us: all our clinics are linked so any of our vets can access your pets’ records. If you would like to see a particular vet, just let us know at the time of booking and we can book you in with your preferred vet.

Our vets are well trained and are kept up to date with continuing education encouraged. We welcome individual vets pursing their personal veterinary interests and encourage them to do so.  Our vets offer an extensive range of services to all clients.

We run a rural technician team alongside our vets to offer disbudding, vaccination, teat sealing and artificial insemination services.

We also offer equine services in the Upper Hutt Region, both routine and emergency. We have an equine hospital facility at our Carterton Clinic and welcome admissions into the hopsital for routine and emergency work.

We sponsor numerous events throughout the year in all species.  We have a relationship with Massey University and take on externship students from the University to help increase their caseload and exposure to routine veterinary work.
